Anthony M. DiGioia, Jr. PhD, P.E.

 

Dr. DiGioia is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University(CMU) with Bachelor of Science(1956), Master of Science(1957) and Doctor of Philosophy(1960) degrees in Civil Engineering. He is currently president of DiGioia, Gray and Associates, LLC (DGA), a firm of consulting engineers and scientists, and an Adjunct professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at CMU. Dr. DiGioia is a founder GAI Consultants, Inc and served as president of the from 1966 to 2002. GAI Consultants is a multi-disciplined consulting firm which grew from a handful of employees in 1958 to over 450 under Dr. DiGioia's leadership.

Dr. DiGioia is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Nebraska. He has published over 100 technical papers on a wide range of Civil and Environmental Engineering topics. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers(ASCE), the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers(IEEE), the Society of American Military Engineers(SAME) and the Conference Internationale Des Grands Reseaux Electrique A' Haute Tension(CIGRE). In 1998, Dr. DiGioia received the Metcalf Award from the Engineers' Society of Western Pennsylvania and Honorary Membership in ASCE for attaining acknowledged eminence for his work in the research, development and application of geotechnical engineering on difficult projects and challenges and for leading GAI to a world-wide organization.
