Alana is the chief operational officer for the
AMD3 Foundation responsible for the overall coordination of programs,
fundraising, communications, financial operations and relationships with
outside organizations. She manages the day-to-day operations as well as strategic
development of the organization.
Alana joined the AMD3 Foundation in May,
2008. Her professional background has been focused on educational programming,
non-profit management and administration, and fundraising which has involved
donor cultivation campaigns, special events, and collaborative partnerships
with many grant making foundations. She has worked at a variety of museums in
North Carolina, Washington D.C., New York City and Pittsburgh including: the
Duke University Museum of Art, the American Association of Museums, the National
Museum of Natural History, the National Anthropology Archives of the Smithsonian
Institution, the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust
in New York City and the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. As Director of
Education Programs at 3 Rivers Connect, a Pittsburgh based non-profit with the
mission of organizing community information to empower decision makers in the
region, Alana oversaw the implementation of innovative regional education
technology solutions in Southwestern PA. Alana brings a strong personal
dedication to improving the lives of families and communities through her
professional endeavors.
Alana graduated from Duke University, with a
BA in Cultural Anthropology and French. She also holds a Master of Arts in
Anthropology/Museum Training from George Washington University. She resides with her husband
Kevin and son Niko in the North Hills of Pittsburgh.
