What is a “blog”?
| • | | A blog is a website where entries are made in journal style and displayed in a reverse chronological order. |
| • | | Blog is short for weblog. A weblog is a journal (or newsletter) that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption. |
| • | | The activity of updating a blog is "blogging" and someone who keeps a blog is a "blogger." Blogs are typically updated daily using software that allows people with little or no technical background to update and maintain the blog. |
| • | | An online Journal. |
| • | | Blogs enable users to publish short comments and ideas instantly for other people to read. Blogging can be an effective communications tool for small groups of people to keep in touch with each other. |
|
|
|
| • | | Blogs are virtual diaries created by individuals and stored on the Internet. Blogs generally consist of text and images and can appear in a calendar type format. |
| • | | A collaborative space that visitors can post comments, link to, add to, or just read on a weekly, daily, hourly basis. Used extensively on journalism sites for breaking news etc. |
Why would I want to blog? To
share your experiences with others, comment on other people’s experiences, or
pose questions to other people with shared interests.
Do
you remember your concerns and questions before your procedure? Are there
things you wish you would have known? Have you made great strides, and you want
to share your successes with others and offer them hope? Do you want to connect
with other patients and coaches? All of these are reasons to participate!
How Do I Get Started?
Start by visiting our blog at http://amd3.org/ROblog. There you can read other people’s entries and add your own comments by clicking on the “Comments” link.
