Project Coordinator

Mission

The AMD3 Foundation is a private, non-profit medical organization that provides bone and joint health education and care in the Western PA region area as well as no-cost joint replacement surgery and bone and joint health education for communities in Latin America. We are looking for a dynamic and creative Project Coordinator who will be eager to help coordinate and plan community outreach education and care programs as well as support all of the Foundation’s efforts that includes collaborating with partner organizations.

Summary

The responsibilities of Project Coordinator are to provide coordination and operational support across the AMD3 Foundation’s community health programs, events, partner initiatives and outreach programs using AI/Machine Learning-enabled tools and other technologies and digital platforms to help advance program goals.  The role also involves helping to deliver community-based bone and joint health screenings, education and care. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Help to plan and support all of the AMD3 Foundation’s local, community and patient engagement events and programs; fundraising campaigns and events; campus outreach efforts; and volunteer engagement activities.

  • Use new technology solutions that support educational and care projects including AI/Machine Learning-enabled tools and other digital tools and platforms.

  • Provide coordination and support for the Foundation’s clinical and community partners, including the UPMC Wellness Center for Bone and Joint Health, the Bone and Joint Center at UPMC Magee-Women’s Hospital, and the UPMC Innovation Center wherever overlap with Foundation program goals exists.

  • Deliver bone and joint health screenings and care in community settings and engage participants in discussions about their results, risk factors, and health-promoting behaviors.

  • Provide interactive health education to community groups to raise awareness of bone and joint health and promote preventive behaviors.

  • Participate in weekly planning meetings with Foundation staff and other project stakeholders.

  • Comfortable learning and using technology platforms, devices, and software.

Required and Desired Skills

  • This is an in-person position. Applicant must have the ability to travel between community sites as needed.

  • Ability and willingness to flex time commitments depending on program needs.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are required with a priority to become a team member and have the ability to coordinate cross-organization collaborations.

  • Comfortable learning and operating bone and joint screening technologies including bone density ultrasound device, x-ray workflows, grip strength devices, falls prevention testing and nutritional assessments.

  • Willingness to learn and apply AI- and ML-enabled tools that support participant education, data capture, or operational efficiency (training provided, no AI/ML expertise required).

  • Have experience with other digital platforms and software suites such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Excel

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and have 3 years of professional experience with demonstrated success in project and/or program coordination, and/or community outreach. Health sector experience is preferred but not required.  Candidates must be willing to learn and use new technologies and assist in with operating digital tools, devices and software platforms. Candidates must be flexible with regard to scheduling and be available to work some nights and weekends, both remotely and on-site. Excellent verbal and communication skills, strong organizational skills and expertise with Google, Adobe, and Microsoft suite products are required.


Compensation and benefits

This is a full-time salaried position. Health, vision, and dental insurance can be provided. Candidate’s compensation will be based on previous experience.
